Belinda Says Hay: “Little Fang’s List”

Hello. It's Belinda.

It all started the other night.

I was dreaming and I wasn't a fan of the dream. "To put it mildly."

The thing is, ever since my roommate told me about the eclipse I can't sleep. Toss and turn all night.

I keep worrying about the sun "shutting off" in the middle of the day next month.

If only I could come up with some sort of "gizmo" I would do it. A special computer code or a "hack."

I mean to cancel the eclipse. 

If humans can turn time back and forth maybe rabbits can push an eclipse "off the track." You never know. 

Anyway in my dream my roommate kept asking me what time it was. But when I looked at the clock, it was missing both hands. It was just numbers in a circle.

Dream roommate didn't care. She kept nagging me.

"Belinda!"

I was squinting at the clock. Maybe the hands were just "extra thin."

"Belinda! Tell me the time!"

She was calling from upstairs. 

"Hey!"

Surely there's a clock upstairs.

"Hey!"

Wait. That's not my roommate. 

"Hey!"

It was Little Fang.

I opened my eyes. The room was so dark I couldn't see her pen.

But I could feel her looking at me, if you know what I mean.

I'm trying to sleep, I said.

"I did it."

I rolled toward the wall. Not in the mood for a "chat."

"I came up with a plan."

I ignored her.

"I have a list."

Oh brother.

Then she was silent for a long time. I kept thinking she would say some nonsense but she didn't.

I started to doze off.

Then she said it.

"I fixed the eclipse."

Now I'm going to do something unusual with this blog.

I just wrote a long "explanation" of Little Fang's eclipse plan. But once I read it I decided I should show it to an expert before I publish it here.

"Ideally" that means an astronaut. So if any of you have a friend who flies to the moon for their job, please ask them to email me at Belinda@smallpetselect.com.

I'm not trying to get Little Fang in trouble. It's bigger than that.

I think her plan might work.
